The Restaurant Captain is a working supervisor and a restaurant team leader responsible for the training, supervision, and support of the restaurant staff, bartenders, and line cook staff (when Executive Chef/Sous Chef are not on shift) to ensure excellent service. Special emphasis is placed on accommodating guest preferences, flexibility with work assignments, efficiency, quality, and social demeanor that contributes to a hospitable environment.



  1. Adhere to all rules, regulations, and policies of the RIT Inn & Conference Center.
  2. Set standards of excellence for all employees by use of the hotel's standard operating procedures
  3. Scheduled as a server/bartender while supervising shift staff
  4. Responsible for general areas of sanitation in the restaurant lobby bar, and market
  5. Ensure that no policies are implemented without prior approval from the Director of Food & Beverage.
  6. To assist in the training of all restaurant employees.
  7. Responsible for daily check list maintenance of all equipment in the restaurant.
  8. Attend all Food & Beverage meetings.
  9. Responsible for shift coverage in the event of a call-off
  10. Handle staff and customer problems as they arise
  11. Solicit and encourage open communication with all outlet associates
  12. Adhere to dressing and grooming guidelines list in the associate handbook. Wear your nametag at all times.
  13. Maintain par stocks for all applicable items in the restaurant.
  14. Keep open communication with the Director of Food & Beverage, and other F&B Managers, and Supervisors.
  15. Ensure that all foods are served at the proper temperatures
  16. Assist with menu development
  17. Approach the guest and inquire about food, service, etc.
  18. Stopping liquor service may be necessary due to overindulgence or under age.
  19. Oversee operations in the Market
  20. Oversee operations in Room Service
  21. Any other duties set by the Director of Food & Beverage and/ or Managing Director.


 Entry Level Supervisor position available.  Server/Bartender experience required.  Staff supervision experience preferred.  Open availability, AM/PM and weekends required.
