The Food & Beverage supervisor is a working supervisor and a team leader responsible for the training, supervision, and support of the banquet and restaurant staff to ensure excellent service. Special emphasis is placed on accommodating guest preferences, flexibility with work assignments, efficiency, quality, and social demeanor that contributes to a hospitable environment. Acts as a liaison between the front and back of the house.


  • Adhere to all rules, regulations, and policies of the RIT Inn & Conference Center.
  • Set standards of excellence for all employees by use of the hotel's operating standards.
  • Deliver the company vision for guests and employees
  • Keep current on pulse of the guests, constantly seeking opportunities to follow up on their experience
  • Have an understanding of the Audio Visual equipment and be able to troubleshoot when necessary
  • Provide employees with the tools, information (i.e. pre-meal meeting and work assignments) and environment they need
  • Coordinate the set-up of each function by verifying desired services and menu in advance with Banquets and Sales
  • Synchronize the timing of the function by verifying details with Kitchen Staff
  • Confirm details of function with client contact; ask for last-minute changes
  • Direct the set-up of the function; ensure that all equipment works
  • Send out weekly Food & Beverage schedule in the absence of the Banquet manager
  • Weekly review of payroll, as well as balancing employee tips in the absence of the Outlets manager
  • Manage the food and beverage service provided during banquets and meetings
  • Inspect banquet rooms on an ongoing basis and take appropriate steps to ensure facilities meet or exceed company standards at all times
  • Responsible for general areas of sanitation in the banquet service areas.
  • Responsible for daily check list maintenance of all equipment in the banquet & restaurant areas
  • Attend all Food & Beverage meetings, BEO meetings, resume meetings, etc.
  • Bi-annual inventory of equipment (i.e. chafers, coffee urns, etc.), China, Glassware & silverware
  • Responsible for the completion of the weekly linen order for banquets and restaurants
  • Ensure that all foods are served at the proper temperatures
  • Stopping liquor service may be necessary due to overindulgence or under age
  • Work schedule will vary based on business demands. In general the Food & Beverage Supervisor should work during the busiest 5-6 days of the week as determined by the Director of Food & Beverage. The schedule for the Food & Beverage supervisor is based off of the demands of both banquets and the restaurants. Consideration must be made for high maintenance groups, staffing levels, etc.

Previous restaurant or hotel food & beverage experience required.
