The Receiving Specialist is responsible handling and managing incoming shipments of materials received for all departments, this includes reconciling materials received against order forms. Works closely with the Rooms Manager and other Department Heads as needed.  Attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping is vital.  Special emphasis is placed on accommodating guest preferences, flexibility with work assignments, efficiency, quality and social demeanor that contributes to a hospitable environment. 



  • Count, weigh or measure items of incoming shipments in order to verify information against invoices, orders, bills or packing slips
  • Inspect and verify the condition of materials received, record shortages and reject damaged items
  • Communicate discrepancies in materials to appropriate Managers.
  • Assist in organizing materials received
  • Route items to various departments
  • Trace and track shipments to ensure timely delivery
  • Responsible for monitoring the return process
  • Cooperate with representatives from other departments in the organization and delivery of materials
  • Communicate effectively with all departments
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures within the Hotel
  • Perform all other assignments as requested by the Rooms Manager.


  • Must be able to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to be on their feet all day
  • Must have adequate communication and hearing skills to perform the required job responsibilities.
  • Must have adequate vision with or without corrective lenses.
  • Must be able to read and write.
  • Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to stand drastic temperature changes.
  • Reasonable accommodations can be made

Previous shipping/ receiving experience preferred.  Monday through Friday day shift.  Hours- 7:30am-4pm.
